As part of the general enhancement and extension of the Environmental Monitoring Information system for Kuwait (eMISK), this assignment is concerned with the improvement of the public Beatona portal (Beatona = Arabic for Our environment).
Although Beatona won many international awards as an innovative GIS-based environment portal in the recent past, it is the request of the EPA to expand the portal to improve user navigation, to add new modules and functionalities as well as to develop targeted areas newly.
RRG has been entrusted with this conceptual tasks:
- SWOT analyses of the current portal
- Identification of new modules and functionalitites
- Develop ideas for targeted user areas
The assignment is divided into three phases:
- Analysis phase: Analysis of the current portal
- Stakeholde phase: interviews with stakeholders, EPA staff and users
- Consolidation phase: Consolidation of the results of the two previous phases
The result is a report which presents the conceptual considerations for the further development of Beatona, as a prerequisite for further technical implementation.
