The EU Commission publication “Regions 2020” and the set of follow up studies “Regional Futures 2020 – Regional challenges in the perspective of 2020” have set the frame for a first prospective analysis of the likely regional impacts of four of the biggest challenges facing Europe: globalization, demographic change, climate change, and energy supply.
The present study deepens and broadens the analysis presented in “Regions 2020”.
For that ÖIR (Vienna) has brought together an international team involving also RRG. RRG, together with Spatial Foresight, is mainly responsible for the globalization issue and also involved in the analysis of the overall policy implications.
